The Western Bulldogs have signed their second New South Wales scholarship player, Chris Ogle, the son of former professional golfer Brett Ogle.

The 16-year-old, who played for Drouin in 2006, hails from a strong rugby background, but was identified by David Beauchamp, a Sydney-based recruiting consultant for the Bulldogs, while he was playing for the South Harbour representative squad.

Beauchamp encouraged Ogle to participate in some training sessions and was impressed with the youngster's adaptation to Australian Football.

Bulldogs recruiting manager Scott Clayton said he is excited to sign Ogle, a running defender.

"He has a lot of pace and is a really competitive player, which is something that really appeals to us," Clayton said.

The Western Bulldogs have announced the signing of their second New South Wales scholarship recipient, 16 year old Chris Ogle.

Ogle, who played for Drouin Football Club in 2006, comes from a strong rugby background but was identified by David Beauchamp, a Sydney based recruiting consultant for the Western Bulldogs, while playing for the South Harbour rep squad at Telstra Stadium.

Initially impressed with Ogle?s talent, Beauchamp encouraged Ogle to participate in some training sessions and was amazed at how quickly Ogle adapted to the game.

Ogle is the son of former professional golfer Brett Ogle.

Western Bulldogs Recruiting Manager Scott Clayton said he was excited to sign Ogle under the scholarship program, describing the rugby convert as a running defender.

?He has a lot of pace and is a really competitive player, which is something that really appeals to us. He comes from a very limited AFL background so he still has quite a bit of development left in him, but we look forward to working closely with both Chris and our other scholarship player Braedon Jones over the coming years,? said Clayton.
