The Windies have been a cricketing powerhouse most of my lifetime, but have been ordinary for some time now.

Some commentators claim that they are in permanent decline due to the recent popularity of basketball. Do you agree?

If you're 6' 9" like Ambrose or Garner you might be half a chance to be a basketballer but how does that explain why their batting is so bad?

They've never been big on technique but had unbelievable individuals so it didn't matter. I don't think they've had an Academy or any formal route for young players to help them through.

Playing for 8 seperate countries can't help, either.

I think the real problem for their cricket besides the politics is American Colleague's recruiting their top athletes for all sports not just basketball.
WI Cricket will never recover to more than just a competitive side in my opinion.
