Go you good thing!
I found out I'm sitting on 49 games for the club. I might bring the whites out one more time for my 50th.

I looked for your name on the 50 game board while I waited for the selectors. It wasnt there.

How did you go?
Got a blob, the team was all out for 65. We fielded and bowled sensationally to have them reeling at 7/40 but they fell over the line. They had 5 first graders playing because first grade was washed out.

Played in the 1sts at Diggers Rest in a one dayer. The other side looked to be missing alot of players due to footy trips and retirements and consequently we smashed them by about 175 runs. My brother got a hundred and another bloke got 96. I was coming in at 4 but given the position we were in we put the hitters up the order as the innings went on and I was not required.

Gee my hands are sore today.
Got a couple of bad bruises doing fielding drills before the game and then got another one taking a catch at mid on-where I hadnt fielded since juniors. It was the captain bowling too, glad I held it.

We are 3-0 at the moment but I have been unable to play the last 2 for various reasons. Looking forward to getting back into it tommorrow.

Good luck RS, hope you get a few!
Cheers mate but it wasn't the best of debuts!
Lasted a few overs but had my middle stump knocked over with a beauty of a yorker.
But I opened the bowling a did reasonably well with the new ball, just have to get used to the pitch and run up for bowling. Fielded well though :)

Impressive that you organised your run up so quickly albeit still having a bit more to sort out. It normally takes the quicks a fair bit of practice to iron out the kinks.

The phone rang.
It never crossed my mind that they would find me. Not after all this time. It must have been, what, 10 years? More, maybe?
But as soon as I heard the voice, I knew.
"Bread Van. We're one short in the thirds. You fancy making up the numbers?"
So, boys and girls, if you're driving around the Western Suburbs this Saturday and happen to see a middle aged fat man in whites that don't seem to fit properly, give us a yell.
The Bread Van is back!

I had my second hit for the year yesterday and made 90. I was absolutely knackered when I got out and to be honest I threw it away a little bit. We were chasing 275 in a 75 over a side match and we were well on our way to winning. I thought I was about 75 so if I had of known I was already on 90 I may have gutsed it out for a 100. Little bit shattered that I got out now but atleast we won. Attack was pretty ordinary for the grade of cricket we were playing but a ton would have been nice.

How did you go? Did the last hour feel like an hour and a half?
BtW, was the keeper shouting "bowling Twodogs" like Gilly does? :)

I didn't play cricket for a few years as I was playing a few other sports but in my first season of senior cricket in Bendigo I was nearing a century in the third match I played. I had plenty of time left (8 or 10 overs) and I hit one towards the boundary where part of the ground was now in shade. I ran the first one reasonably hard and looked over and saw that the fielder hadn't picked up the ball so I thought there was an easy 2nd so I called it. I couldn't pick who the fielder was but he was an ex baseball play who threw the ball low and flat from the boundry straight over the stumps and had me about a foot and a half short. I was out for 87. The publican who sponsored the team used to offer a night of free drinks plus a couple of counter meals to anyone who made a century so it would have been a decent reward if I had have gutted it out. I was both knackered and shattered about getting myself out.

I actually said to another bloke at tea "I'm actually quite enjoying this".
By 5.30 all the enjoying had gone away.
Nothing went too wrong. Spent nearly all day in slip, took 1 catch, didn't drop any and didn't make any horrible misfields.
Had a problem that my borrowed pants kept falling down whenever I had to chase it.
Today I am in agony.

Played my first game of indoor for a few months last night. Hit a few runs, a seven off the last ball and managed to snare a hatty with my off spinners.
Ended up winning by one run, good fun.
I would to go out and have a proper hit of turf cricket, perhaps next season I should get back into it. Haven't played a proper turf game since primary school!

Lots of rain in Melbourne. Unless we see some sun we might be chasing 300+ on a damp track.

Well, I finally did it; first hundred in a long long time. Cop that Korumburra. Go the mighty Wonthaggi Lads!! Sitting pretty atop the the ladder in B Grade.
PS Jarrod Roughhead made 200+ in a one-dayer against our C Grade. Knob.
God I love Cricket.
