I want this to be a positive or constructive thread.
What is the pass mark for a successful 2007 for Tim. I've always had hope for him, but being compltetly honest, i haven't seen enough to come out and say 2007 is his year. He is still younger than was Tom Davidson and has a much better attitude. He has been down now with injury and i think with Darcy, Hahn and Murphy he may have got a perspective and fresh outlook for things, or at least i hope he has.
For me, i'd like to see up to 5 games with the Dogs and bearing in mind coming back from injury, half or more of the year in the Bees one's. That to me would be enough to indicate he's worth another year.

I agree with everything you have said. If he can get a run of senior games then it might be a real turning point for him. He does however need to make some prgoress this year.

Fair call but I'd that he should be really shining at the Bees by season's end. And really show something when playing with the Dogs, rather than a token appearance.

I think he'll have his work cut out for him trying to get into the side, but if he can play some good football it works in his favour of staying on the list - either at senior or B's level. He is still reasonably young for a KP, and a lot of injuries would have hindered his development a lot.

That's the key here.
Walsh needs to shine in The Bees, particuarly late in the season, or he's gone. He needs to show something worth perservering with otherwise he'll be delisted. Been on the list for a while, and we've got quite a few big guys on the list, and with the possibilities of harbow, Hughes or Pask being elevated then Walsh HAS to shine at the very least, in The Bees.
5 games would be a good achievement for him, but he'd probably also need to show something in those. Doesn't mean kicking 5 goals and taking 10 marks. But performances similiar to Travis Bairds prior to his injury would be sufficient.
His back is against the wall, but it's what he has to do if he's gonna keep a spot on an AFL list.

I think a consistent season with Werribee and at least being considered for Bulldog selection on a regular basis by the seasons end would signify a good year. There are a number of taller players ahead of him in the pecking order for a spot, and even if Walsh is playing good football all year for Werribee, he may still not necessarily be able to win a regular berth for the Dogs.
In that scenario I think he would still be deemed to have had a good season and would see him get a contract for 08 and beyond.
It would help his cause even more if he were to be a standout player with Werribee for a number of weeks. Especially in the second half of the year when he's had a chance to get somewhere close to match fitness after such a prolonged absence.
I really wish him the best of luck for the year ahead and would love to see him get a kind break for a change.
