View Full Version : If we miss on drafting Welsh - is there a plan B?

In many discussions we've been planning our forward set-up with the inclusion of Welsh (as would have the club).
What if Richmond or Carlton draft him; what might be our alternative plan?
Would it cause a major concern - our drafting to date would have been based on him be drafted?
Is there an experienced forward available that we might consider (Cloke)?
Do we draft the best young forward available (Gourdis - Gaertner hasn't nominated as he is a bottom age player)?
Would a very tall young ruckman (with reasonable body weight) suddenly become a priority?
What are your thoughts - this little 'Doggy Doos' not know?

I'm pretty sure we will get him however, if he goes beforehand I think we would look at one of the local guys training with us and simply have have to structure the forward line around the players we have.
I doubt we would draft Gourdis, Gaertner and for that matter Cloke.

Have been thinking about this too- is there a list of who is in the PSD?

Welsh is signed, sealed and will soon be delivered. Take that as gospel.

Its certainly looking that way CD. It will be interesting to see if he can make the sort of impact that most supporters are hoping for. Lets hope that he just focuses on his footy.

Let's just say he is excited at the opportunity of a fresh start he felt stagnated at the Crows there was quite a bit of unrest and quite a few of the Crows players especially the older ones have lost a bit of faith in Craig.

The clubs recruiting guys do "chat" to each other before the drafts are held.
The fact that the dogs and Welsh have agreed to terms on a contract makes me pretty confident that this will all fall into place.

I'm sure that it will get through and I would even put some money on it. Not a lot though ;)
