I doubt if it's a storm in a tea cup because there is apparently a push to arrange something like this but I'd question how successful it will be.

It might coax a lot of the guys nearing retirement to stick around a bit longer.

I think it will have the opposite effect.

If you're getting near the end, retire from test cricket and go to India to clean up before you give it away altogether.

Perfect for 30+ guys who are clearly not in the selectors plans - Katich, Hodge, Gillespie, Bichel.
