Had this conversation with a mate of mine of the weekend, pre the Gooner's loss to Borough. His position was that they were basically home and that he couldn't see any team, Man U and Chelsa included catching them this season. My position was the opposite. The Gooners have had a fantastic start to 2007/08, with Fabregas in fantastc form (if there was a brownlow in the Premier League he would be a shoe in!), but for me the biggest question mark over the Gooner's are their lack of depth beyond their first team. All of the top 3 teams will drop games agianst teams like Borough during the year, its enevitable. What I think hurts the Gooners though is not just dropping the game against Borough, but also the fact that when the niggles turn into 2-3 match misses, as their Champions League progression continues and the schedule piles up, their ability to pull quality players from their seconds team diminishes in comparison to Man U and Chelsea.

I'd be intereted in hearing what others think?

It's all about squad depth these days. Clubs like Liverpool constantly tinker with team selection with a view to rotating as much as possible so everyone seems to get a game. That may come in handy later in the season when the gruelling weather, fixture congestion & injuries really put a strain on resources.

It hard to know just how this might affect Arsenal from a personal perspective as I am not too sure about their depth.

No shame in losing to the mighty Boro.
