I'm going to use this thread to post some of my favourite moments in the history of sport (all sports, feel free to put football/cricket moments in here also), starting with...

The Miracle on Ice. 1980 Winter Olympics. The U.S. Ice Hockey team, comprising amateur and collegiate players, upset the might of the Soviet Union in the semi-finals, 4-3.

The 1982 Cox Plate.

With about 400 metres to go, the Accurate One, Bill Collins, uttered those now immortal words: "Kingston Town can't win".

He did, and did it in fine style.

im on a slow internet connection, but the one where the Australian ice skater was coming 4th, only to have the other three skaters crash out and him to claim gold would surely be a highlight. De-Fault, De-fault!!!
