Got to thinking earlier and with most of our players back from injury there will be a lot of competition for spots on the field. We have built up so much depth in the team and everyone will be vying to get into the team. I think that is a good thing and it will make all the players work that much harder.

There is going to be hot competition amongst the mid size players, with so many options and combinations. Do we give some of last years first year players a go? Where do you slot Aker as he has now taken a spot away from the younger guys. With the talls, what do we do with Darcy coming back, Mcdougall, Grant, Skipper, Minson, how many do you play? What about full back while Harris serves his suspension? So many questions to answer, but its great to have these options

Aker can just replace Smith I guess in a sense. It will be hard, and people are going to really have to earn their spots, which is excellent, and something that we haven't really had too much of due to injuries and poor lists in previous years. This year we have about 26 or so guys who could easily line up in the starting 22 most weeks.

Aside from Harris, our spine looks unsettled.

If you were picking the other likely 15 teams for say Round 1, would we have the most uncertain spine?

Bung Wight in as a certain starter as well.

Unsettled yes but plenty of options. The way we play means that we have been able to cover the lack of genuine KPP. I like the versatility that the likes of Hargrave, Wight, Morris and Grant gives us in defence along with Harris plus I think the forward line can get by with Darcy and Doogs playing in key forward spots supported but our classy mids.

Not that concerned about our spine because Eade can coach around it.

I still think he will nail down CHB this year. Williams? No guarantees. Skipper? Tried. Grant? Will plug holes as usual. Hargrave? Too small. Doogs? No guarantees, in seasons past looks more fo a forward.

IMO cover to a degree and we finsihed 6th. To be a genuine top 4 team we need a good spine, however you define that eg Murphy at CHF and a definite tall target at FF. A good reliable week in week out CHB wouldn't astray either

Surely there are limits to this?
