The highlight was when he said he rates Peter Foster as our greatest ever player.

Nah, just made that up :D

He said he still goes to the footy on the train and is made welcome around the club. A bit non committal about leaving the club ? and accepting of being robbed of the Brownlow.

He played local footy with his son after he left the VFL and his son kicked a ton for the year. He sounded pretty chuffed with that. Two of his sons played ressies? for other VFL sides.

Corey was one son he played at St Albans, was a full forward, be about 40 now i think or close to it.

Yep, would be around the 35-37 mark. Was a gun junior player, strong, fast and skilled. Just found the step from Junior footy to AFl/VFL a little too tough.

Absolute highway robbery, was clearly the best and fairest for the year and should have the Charlie round his neck.

(for those who don't know, he was best on ground in the last round of footy for the year, but was reported. Umpires didn't award him any votes because of the report, however, on the Monday was cleared of all charges, but votes had been submitted. Lost the Brownlow to Kevin Murray by a vote. Bloody Stinks)

Sat behind George at the Lions game a few weeks ago and had a good chat. He is pretty impressed with Callan Ward. Often see him in the Social Club at Telstra Dome. I don't think he is entirely happy with the drinkss ervice in the past players function as he seems to buy his beers from the Victory Room then head back next door.

While I certainly don't want to diminish George's legacy but he was initially reported by the ump for striking, mid season. The reason he got off was because the player he hit refused to give evidence, which was a pretty common occurance in those days.

While Kevin Murray was probably just as hard a player as George, the fact is he got caught.

Nothing against Kevin, but Bissett did get off, but didn't get the votes which he deserved.
