I cant say I agree with you on that. Archery is the one sport that I always make sure I watch, but I am an archer and that does make it a fair bit more interesting for me.

2008 Olympics - yawn!!!!
I've found it hard to get excited about these Olympics more than others in the past.
I find it hard to believe/understand why they aren't blood testing for drugs. At least in Tour de france they are trying harder to catch cheats
There is is no Roy and HG this year.
I don't understand why we pump so much money into this.
Team sports are good but with soccer cos its on 7 they will hide it.
I have little interest in swimming
I bet we see endless Gymnastics, Dressage and Diving.

But ofcourse Hab54, that is the good thing with these games there is something for everyone to enjoy eg, as in your case archery is something you enjoy doing. :)

I lost interest in the Olympics about 12 years ago, think its all the drugs and how its all money driven.
Dont tell me the Olympics committee werent bribed into Biejing, no thought of athletes health or the problems with Tibet, would have thought that would be the last place bar Iraq or Zimbabwee to hold them.
Yes I know they will fall back on separating sports and politics but the Olympics must be one the most politicaly run competitions in the world.
Banning cheering or banners at certain events, what a disgrace.
When an athlete states in the press i will take on drug cheats also, whats that telling you?

I'm looking forward to the battle in the pool and especially to see how Phelps goes. Some might say he is over confident but to openly challenge himself by saying he is after 8 gold medals will make for very interesting viewing.

Congratulations to Leisel Jones on winning the 100 metres breaststroke. A fantastic effort & worthy gold medalist.
I had the fortunate pleasure of meeting her last year at the Williamstown v Werribee clash. Very nice & so accommodating.
Got a pic of The Coon Pup with her too.

TCD IS EVERYWHERE!
Your like the sporting Simpson family anyone who is good at sport wants a picture with TCP.
The serial pest Peter Hoare has nothing on you.
You never cease to amaze me Baz.
Awesome stuff.
I wait in eagerness for pictures of TCP with Kevin Pietersen and the great Harry Rednapp!

How good was the women's 200 metres x 4 relay?
I was at work & listened to Ray Hadley's call & it sent shivers down my spine, something the replay on channel 7 failed to do.
Well done Stephanie, Bronte, Kylie & Linda.

6 seconds off the world record is just amazing. At one stage there was about 5 teams under the old mark.

Our girls in the pool have done such a great job. All five gold medals to date from our female swimmers.
Heard on the news earlier something about Hackett not feel well - anyone hear it?

Yeah, the was a rumour that he wasn't going to swim in the heats for the 1500 metres. The swim coach just said that he will be swimming. Good news.

Did anyone catch the Italy v Ghana match in the men's football the other night?
Quite possibly the worst match in Olympic History.
A draw meant both teams would go through, so they played kick-arounds for 90 minutes. The match flowed like glue, and by the end the commentator was losing the will to live.
Very forgettable.

Italy was already through actually. They possibly played some of reserves. Not point busting a gut for no reason.
Its not the first time this has happened nor will it be the last.
Nothing beats Germany v Austria in 82.

Did anyone just happen to see the Mens 100 metre sprint final just a few minutes ago?
The Jamaican Usain Bolt absolutely destroyed it he ran 9.69 and a world record to boot smashing his own record of 9.72 that he set in June this year. He left the others for dead. Awesome run.

Congrats to our Womens Swim team - exceptional meet.
How awesome is Michael Phelps?
I remember when Mark Spitz got 7 Gold - all those years ago and did not think that I would ever see the record beaten.

How awesome is Michael Phelps?
He is unbelievable 8 gold medals and the thing was he proclaimed to the media that he would win them all prior to the games starting. Apparently he has quite a healthy appetite they mentioned on SEN last week how much he ate. Phelps says his day consists of swimming, eating and sleeping at that is all - the sacrifice paid off well 8 gold medals and blitzing in the pool.

Im not 100% sure but I think they 6 of them were in world records.
It was a shame for Hackett today. I thought he handled the loss very well. Australia's dominance at that distance is not something we will see anytime soon again.

Not to take any gloss off Phelps effort, but he really should have only won 6 (only, ha ha).
The French guy in the relay actually had a look to see where he was, slowed down and lost what was won.
Covic (?) had him beat as well and butchered the touch.

Now THAT one was a dead set ripper.
That one gets a bonus point in that a 1-0 win to Germany was engineered.
The funny thing is I think some Germans are still in denial over that one.
As a sidenote, did anyone watch the Boomers take Lithuania apart yesterday. Absolutely magnificent. Andrew Bogut didn't pull down a single rebound, he didn't need to. He was hitting 3s from out of his backside, and the alley-oop from CJ Bruton, poetry in motion.

Sally McLennan has just run the race of her life to claim silver in the Women's 100m Hurdles.
They're interviewing her now, she is in utter disbelief at what she has just achieved.
The look on her face as she crossed the line was absolutely priceless, and when it was confirmed she'd won silver she celebrated as though she'd just broken the world record. Beautiful TV.
Congratulations Sally, I along with I'm sure many other Australians, are immensely proud of you.

It looked for all the world as if Lolo Jones was going to claim the gold medal until she clipped the 2nd last hurdle.
Agree WD54, fantastic reaction when she realised that she had claimed silver. About 5 of them were seperated by the proverbial bee's dick.
Just saw some of the soccer highlights. Nigeria 4 defeated Belgium 1. Some great long range goals. Argentina & Brazil in the other semi a little later.

Just saw that too.
I've seen bits of the other semi on SBS but I won't spoil it. Great to see guys like Messi and Ronaldinho running round at the Olympics.
Suffice to say it will be a cracking final.
The hurdles: 2nd through to 5th were separated by .01 of a second. Ripping race.
They just showed another replay of the reaction, and to be quite frank I don't think I'll ever, ever get sick of watching it.
