Fevola gets 8 and LLoyd 7 goals over the weekend.
Just the silly season or a precursor of the impact of the new rules in 2007?

It's going to be a big challenge and one that was pointed out here a few weeks ago. FWIW, I think the AFL wants to bring the start forwards back into the game a few rules of late seem to be skewed towards the forwards.
Cricket is very much a batsman's game and I hope football doesn't turn into a forwards game. There is nothing wrong with kicking 12 goals and winning a game through an excellent defensive effort.
I think the AFL wants games to have at least 30 goals scored.

OK, that leads me to my next point. I know Johhno had a stellar '06 but can he repeat it again under the new rules?
On the facxe of it, we don't have a Lloyd, Bradshaw, Thompson, Neitz, Richo, Hall or Fevola etc
Will Grant finish his career as he started it ie at FF?

I don't think it will be a problem for Johnson at all. He had no problems yesterday with it.
You are right about us not having a gun big forward though.
Grant will be used both forward and back and we shouldn't rely too much on him.

I would prefer to see Grant finish his career where he started ie at FF and kick 100 goals. He seems to get hammered too much in the backline as he throws his body in for the good of the team.

Our forward line will be changing regularly, and thus Grant won't play FF the whole time. He'll play where needed, whether that be on resting ruckmen types in the backline or - as a deep target in the forward line.
Murphy, Aker, Darcy, McDougall, Higgins & Hahn are players who will be apart of a forward line rotation that wern't in the side last year, so I think we'll be very versatile and not too reliant on one particular set-up.
In theory I would rather Grant play 70% of his footy up forward, but it's not exactly a safer position, because he'll have bodies crashing over him. Whereas when he's back, hor as a loose man, he's got more "control" in the sense that he's keeping a man quiet or not getting knees in the back etc.

I remember Matty Croft complaining after a game near the end of his career that physically it was physically more demanding playing at FF than FB and he should have known.
