THE Western Bulldogs are preparing for a full dress rehearsal when they take on reigning premier West Coast at Subiaco on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs will field their strongest side of the pre-season with the return of veteran Scott West and defender Ryan Griffen.
Coach Rodney Eade said the Bulldogs would "up the tempo" after last week's 11-point win over Essendon.

"We will pick the best squad available given this is our last hit-out before Round 1," Eade said. "Having said that, we're not worried about the result and will probably trial a couple of things."

Bulldogs Luke Darcy, Adam Cooney and Robert Murphy returned from injury to play the Bombers and are on track to play at least three quarters this weekend, Eade said.

"We've still got the advantage of another week," he said.

"We believe if we increase what they played on the weekend, which was about 50 per cent of the game, that will probably just round them off nicely to play Round 1."

Second-year player Shaun Higgins suffered a corked thigh against Essendon and is on a modified training program ahead of Saturday's game.

"The feeling is he'll be right to play on the weekend," Eade said. "We won't take any risks with him because of the flight."

Well so far so good. Did the job they set out to do.

Not a bad preseason beaten both of last yera's grand finalists. Only problem is we're not the only ones to do so.
