Who are your nominations for the most annoying sportsman this year.

Sonny (Money) Bill Williams gets my vote. Greedy so and so who tried to use every other excuse rather than just fessing up his departure to France was primarily about padding up his wallet.

That O'Brien semi fast bowling nerd from NZ, bowling bouncer after bouncer especially at Brett Lee, and the rest of the tail, yet runs scared when batting, i was getting frustrated to the point of throwing the remote because Lee wasn't able to get at him.

Has a head that you just want to punch!.........very hard!

Tamsyn Lewis - makes me cringe

Matt Hayden - Should have retired last year

Matt Clark - wants a pay rise after spending $300k on a flash car and millions on a Palm Beach love nest for Lara. Needs to get in touch with the common folk.

Mark Harvey - worst coach since Mastermind.

Mark Fine - Not a sportsman, more a wannabe sports personality. Dreadful.

Anthony Mundine - One of our best ever boxers but a bit of humility wouldn't hurt him. As much as I rate him as a talented sportsman I still want to see him sat on his backside.

Mark Philippoussis - Great to see that you want to get yourself into shape and comeback and help the Davis Cup side but the penny has dropped for you about 5 years to late.

Michael Clarke - **** I hate him. From his handling of the Symonds incident, to his cries for pay increase's, to his bullshit tattoo's and to his relationship with Bingle the guy is a turd. I hope Steyn fill's him in in the Boxing day Test, I will stand and applaud when it happens.

Matt Giteau - Another metrosexual wanker who it seems is only in it for the coin. Pawned himself off to the highest bidder (Western Force) a few years back and is trying to do it again. The sooner he pisses off to France the better.

Symo - Merv's love-child who's never did anything to deserve his recall and is taking up a batting spot that should be filled by one of two Vics, or an all-rounder's spot who should be filled by a better bowling all-rounder (Noffke/Watson). Last four Tests were cheapest Test caps in living memory and hasn't done anything to justify recall.

Buddy - same as Symo, flash in the pan, arrogant d***wad who thinks he's untouchable. Can't wait for his 3rd strike and I'll be at front of line sticking the boot in. (Would have said the same about Cuz but his last interview was really surprising and has forced me to give him the benefit of the doubt).

Hawthorn - Soft, front-running, too-clever-by-half, prize gamesmanship over sportsmanship -- Alistair Clarkson's grubby fingerprints are all over this team. Slide down table beckons if there's any justice in sport.

And I'm with The Doctor on Mark Fine. Try-hard pseudo-intellectual wank. What the f***?

Probably not in the spirit of the sportsman title but Ricky Nixon annoyed the heck out of me from September until now. His angry regular ramblings on SEN really highlighted what a manipulative whinging tool he is when things aren't going his way.

I agree with just about every post in this thread. *

Maybe I'm just a miserable git.

* The only thing I'm not certain about was the "Anthony Mundine - One of our best ever boxers". How do we know if he's a good boxer if he only ever fights punching bags?

I know what you mean but I would struggle to name 8 Australian better boxers. Does a top 10 Australian boxer make him him one of our best ever boxers?

Ben Cousins, well a little bit of him and how he has messed up, but all in all, the media and Ben, just how long can you drag a story out?

Off the top of my head and without looking at a reference book or googling it.

-Les Darcy
-Young Griffo
-Johhny Famechon
-Barry Michael
-Kostya Tzu
-Lionel Rose
-Jimmy Carruthers
-Lester Ellis

I only ever saw Michael, Ellis and Tzu in the flesh. Michael and Ellis would just rope the dumb bastard in, let him expend all his energy and then take him down in r8 or 9. Tzu would step around him and sit him on his arse in r1. The others were real, proper boxers who fought real, proper opponents and wouldnt have too many problems with a dickhead like Mundine.

And that's without mentioning Tony Mundine...

Twodogs you have left out John Hopoate, Jimmy Thunder and Aussie Joe Bugner.

Jeff Harding for the serious list.

You havent seen Jeff Harding recently have you?

He could head a list of 'tragic' ex sportsmen.

Marion Jones.

This vile creature, who cheated so many honest competitors out of a fair contest, when in reality she probably never needed to, has the gaul to throw her teary, pathetic self in front of the cameras pleading for forgiveness, selling her story (and her soul along with it) to Oprah Winfrey to produce one of the weakest interviews I have ever seen, trying to somehow paint it as though it wasn't all her fault and that the pressure was all too much for her.

Hopefully she will now f*** off down the tiny little hole she deserves to inhabit.

Tzuyu knocking out Zav Judah in the states remains the funniest thing I have ever seen in boxing. The shot where he's pointing back at the ref before collapsing could be captioned "I just got knocked the f*** out". As for Judah's reaction to the result, I can't decide whether it was funny or pitiful.

I know it's now 2009, but watching Christiano Rinaldo this morning made my blood boil. He can seriously play, there's no doubt about that, but every time he loses possession he goes to ground, expecting & demanding a free kick & when it's not forthcoming he carries on with animated disgust. Surely a few referees with a bit of spine would put an end to his theatrics.

I don't think he's annoying so much, just guilty of one very foolish act.

I thought he conducted himself quite well over here last Summer.
