Allowing NSW to bring in Brendan McCullum for one game in the T20 Final.

Disgrace that there is no qualifying period. I have no issue with Gul and others playing the season and playing finals if they 'qualify', but to allow NSW to hire a touring overseas player who has not played for NSW makes a complete mokery of the system.

Perhaps the Vics shold see if JP Duminy wants an extra bat.

Each state is allowed one international for the Champions league but they have to have played one state match to qualify. I would hope Victoria is ringing Chris Gayle and anyone else available to see if they're interested as well

Especially now that Brad Hodge will be in serious doubt.

I thought it was a bit odd that a team could get a ring in for a final, but, the rules are in place to do that.

Vic camp has handled it perfectly. Just said NSW can do what they like but we are going down a different path. Let the media beat it up and all it will do is distract the blues in the lead up to the game. Good move from the Victorian camp.

Symonds was told the media / on the news claiming it was "un-Australian".

Brad Hodge was asked to comment on the label, Hodgey replied "Maybe we can call Symo and see if he wants to plays for the Vics saturday night?".

The thing i don't like about this rule, is that, teams can have one import, thats fine, but that player i believe should have to qualify to play in the "final", maybe a set rule of a few games, to bring one in for a final is just ridiculous, makes a mockery of the competition.

Worse is if NSW win and McCullum scores a hundred. And forever in the history of domestic cricket the win will be seen with infamy. Its tantamount to bribery and corruption. The fact that cricket's administrators are incompetent and can not fairly manage a simple game and have allowed this to happen doesn't detract from the issue. They may win the match, but will lose enormous respect for NSW and hurt the image of the game I feel.

Yep thats right and Darren Pattison qualifies as our as he played test cricket for England.
Victoria are getting royally screwed IMO let him play in the champions league but its a low blow bringing him in for the final.

I am not sure Pattinson counts as an international but even if he does we would still be allowed to play another international as Pattinson hasn't played in this season's T20 comp. A bit like Tanvir playing for SA despite Younis Khan playing for them in the SS and FRC.

We've spoken with Warnie and Gilly!

This is completely different as well because neither have played cricket with anyone else this season (I suppose they both played IPL, if that counts).

Its an interesting one, its in the rules so yeah good luck to NSW. I think they are maybe more doing it for the domestic championships league where the big bucks are rather than tomorrow nights game.
