The Newcastle Jets players will boycott the Asian Champions League match against Ulsan Hyundai in Korea next week unless match payments and bonuses for qualifying to the next stage of the ACL are guaranteed in writing by Jets management by this weekend.

Newcastle players voted unanimously on the move and met with officials from the Players Federation Association this morning.

It is understood the PFA encouraged the players not to the boycott the match, but the playing group were steadfast in their stance to resolve outstanding issues with the club.

On top of the list of grievances has been match payments and bonuses for the Asian Champions League with the travel time and extended transit stops to Asia also a bane of contention between players and club officials.

TWG believes Beijing Guoan players were guaranteed a $4000 bonus per player if the team beat Newcastle last week in the ACL. It's also believed the Jets players are asking for around a third of this figure for match bonuses moving forward.

The PFA were contacted today but declined to comment, as did the Jets playing group.

As a Newcastle United fan, this is a new low in a Club governed by crap mangement. A wealth of talent has filtered through this A League Club since inception, only to be treated badly, let go, or cheated in $ terms.
