Can you cop it as a sport? Definatly one of the most underrated sports going around IMO, just watching a game on ESPN, the MLL, some seniors v juniors game, growing up having played for Willy Juniors, always being a strong club for many years.
It is discribed as the fasted game on grass, only Ice Hockey played at a faster rate.
Do you like it, have you played the game before? Can you cop watching a game on ESPN?

I played a lot of Lacrosse and its a tough game. Not that great to watch I have to say but it's a demanding game to play. It's huge in the US.

I actually quite enjoy watching a game on TV, probably more so than any other sport apart from footy & cricket, the only problem is that because it doesn't get the same coverage as other sports especially in the U.S, baseball, gridiron & ice hockey leave it for dead in that area, you don't know the teams or players, so you are very much watching from a mutual point of view, plus the coverage on ESPN isn't that great.
I remember spending hours apon hours throwing the ball against that old white building [now a restaurant] across the road from the Fearon researve in Willy, and that old rotunda with lots of old wooden raquets, which is now a fish & chippery.

Both of my wife's brothers played lacrosse for Australia (in fact so did her Mother and Aunty).
I have watched the sport for near on 20 years now ... love it !!

Played a lot of lacrosse down at Williamstown in my junior years. Had to give it away when my studies got too serious, as I found it hard to keep up all the training required. Unbelievably tough game. Was knocked unconscious twice - once in an under 14s Grand Final and once in an under 16s match at Chadstone.
Still watch a bit on ESPN, and saw a lot on TV when I was in Toronto, Boston, New York and Philadelphia. Canada and the North East of the USA is the world hotbed of lacrosse.
