THE injury-plagued career of Tom Williams could have another potentially season-ending chapter, with the Western Bulldogs defender set to have scans on a suspected broken foot.
The 23-year-old will have X-rays today after his foot was stomped on late in the 18-point win against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Saturday night.
"It's badly bruised or he might even have a fracture in there, so we'll have to wait and see," Bulldogs football manager James Fantasia said.
It is the latest in a long line of setbacks for the luckless Williams, who missed five weeks in the middle of the season with a foot injury.
He was also sidelined for the 2005 and 2006 seasons after breaking the navicular bone in his foot three times.
His injury is the only piece of bad news from the Bulldogs medical room, with Saturday-night casualties Ryan Griffen (hamstring), Robert Murphy (corked thigh) and Brad Johnson (corked thigh) expected to be ready for Friday night's blockbuster against Geelong.
Only Johnson is in any doubt.
"(Johnson) will be OK we think. We'll test him later in the week, with the only risk is it's a Friday night game and a six-day break. But we're pretty confident he'll be fine," Fantasia said.
Shaun Higgins will also play against the Cats after missing the past three weeks with a hamstring injury.
Daniel Cross (ankle) and Daniel Giansiracusa (knee) will be back for Round 22.
