That most of the weekend media coverage was all about Richmond losing?
WE WON THE BLOODY GAME-how about talking about that. Newspapers and radio were full of the doom and gloom about how crap Richmond were, which I normally dont mind reading, but very little about the winners. Very frustating.

I actually don't have a problem with it.
We had enough publicity after round 1. I'd prefer to just go along quietly and make our way back up the ladder.
PS - If we beat the Eagles in Perth in 2 weeks time you'll have plenty to read about.

The problem is that it was not a convincing win (as it should have been)
Perhaps if we had thrashed them then the media would have been all over us or at least we would have shared the limelight with them.
Wallace probably would have preferred to see the media talking up the Dogs rather than focusing on the Tigers.

If you take out the two goals Tommy Williams gave away with first game mistakes then we would have won by 44 points and that would have looked far more comfortable.
That said I dont have any problem with not getting that much attention. I thought we got too much after a scratchy win over Geelong.

Not sure you are right TD. Certainly the chattering classes on the radio couldn't stop banging on about Richmond, even Parko a Bulldogs member, was just talking non stop tripe about the Tiges. But the next day's papers were more effusive about our efforts than I was.
It's the Wallywood effect. He has a terrifying capacity to convince the media to see things his way. Its taken him a long time to discover a hole in their list. Given another 25 years of failure he will probably find a few other useless and pointless pieces of misinformation.

Is the simple answer is that a 0-4 start to the season is a bigger story?
Likewise we only beat the probable wooden spooners?
A good victory this week may mean more, IMO.

I think everyone (the media) is getting way too carried away with the results after 4 rounds.

If by "they" we mean the media, they must be showing amazing restraint to have got beyond a week which if it's "a long time in politics' then it must be an eon in football.
