Just wondering if anyone is going to get interested in melbourne's new Super 15 team?
I actuall didn't mind Union at one stage but unfortunately it's become full of penalties and stop start sort of sport

No, not for me.

I'll take an interest maybe slightly more than I do for Storm. Union is a better game.

This decision is 5 years too late. Fancy going to Perth before Melbourne.

I'm married to a Kiwi so I can see us getting some visitors every two years when the Highlanders visit.

Correct. Crazy original decision, and nearly messed it up again.

We'll be successful before too long -- we love sport too much to have a crappy team here.

Or an excuse to get away for a long weekend to NZ. (forever young..)

Agree on both counts ES ... I love watching Union, and am very glad I now have a team to support in the Melbourne Rebels

I am still bemused by the Perth decision

I'm not into Union, much prefer League. But I'll see what happens..... I could have a 3rd team to support in Melbourne!! :)

As am I. Will go to as many games as I can.

The Perth decision was a stinker. Part of the Rationale was its closer proximity to SA. There is supposed to be a bigger rugby base over there also. Not sure where they all ended up...

Per capita maybe ... overall, I'm not so sure

It's a bit like the controversity over whether C9 should have transmitted Tiger's first round on thursday instead of Kerryanne. Of course they should have-no one's ever gone broke overestimating Melbourne's love of sport.

That franchise should have gone to Melbourne.

I always thought baseball was played on a diamond...

There's a thought, is there any sport that is played on a triangular field?

This new stadium is going to get a lot of work. 2 rugby teams and 2 soccer teams will keep it in good use. Hopefully the new sides can package up some of the memberships.

Their thinking big.
Targets are Berrick Barnes, Rocky Elsom and Digby Ioane (both Melbourne boys)
Digby said previously, that if we get a team, we wants to come, and hopefully they can get 1 of the other 2

The rumour mil in Europe is that they are targeting the Leinster Coach to be the first manager in 2011.
