Grant back to boost Bulldogs (http://realfooty.com.au/news/news/grant-back-to-boost-bulldogs/2007/06/20/1182019200977.html)

BARRING a mishap at VFL level this weekend, Chris Grant will play his long-delayed first game for the Western Bulldogs in 2007 immediately after the bye.
Grant, 34, has missed the first half of the season with a groin injury, but has managed to play the past two matches with Werribee, and will play his third game for the Bulldogs' VFL affiliate this weekend.
Grant's return in round 13 against the Kangaroos means that the Bulldogs' games record holder will be able to grace the MCG when his Kangaroo counterpart Glenn Archer plays his 300th game, in what will surely be the last time the pair compete against each other.
Grant's injury has prevented him from adding to his tally of 336 games.
The Bulldogs are understood to have indicated to the Kangaroos that Grant will play in Archer's 300th.
In less welcome news for the Bulldogs, gun youngster Ryan Griffen is expected to be sidelined until round 19 to 21. Daniel Cross will miss perhaps another six matches as a result of his knee injury, with Robert Murphy (hamstring) to miss only another two, thanks to the bye.
■The AFL is set to investigate the Western Bulldogs' apparent use of a trainer as an extra runner to deliver on-field messages. The Seven Network provided the league with footage that appeared to show a female trainer delivering a message to Jason Akermanis.
The club would not comment without seeing the footage.
