Damien Barrett has no moral compass haha. That was gold from Bevo.
Barrett has gone extremely quiet about us very quickly.
I like the way he wouldn't mention which journos and then the other quipped with Damien Barrett . They knew why ask who ?
Barrett smells like a psychopath to me. No moral compass, expressing cold calculated opinion, no empathy....They walk amongst us.
Far from being the bigger man and moving on, good old Purple decided to have two cracks at once today:
If
Luke Beveridge, in his own words, "had one or two criminals in my family" ...
Then
"there'd be a few flat tyres" on cars belonging to journalists. Interesting stuff from Luke.
Followed by:
If
a goal umpire is missing a white flag this weekend ...
Then
the AFL legal department has a spare one. Waved it vigorously as it needlessly caved in on Wednesday on the Katie Brennan issue.
Simply won't allow us a good news story.
TBH it was pretty cringey from Bevo. He's better than that.
He was talking about it in the context of things affecting his family more than him, and using it as an expression to detail how pissed off everyone gets for him.
However, it was a comment made in jest more than anything else.
Everyone gets so serious........
That jibe is taken out of context. It was a fun interview.
The only thing wrong with it, was it was always bound to be repeated in isolation, devoid of the context the words accompanying it implied and without reference to the visual cues that conveyed the tongue in cheek response Bevo was making to the question he was asked.
Of course its too much to expect Barrett or Caro to display the level of intellectual honesty required to provide an honest report on Bevo's response. Any honest and fair viewer to Bevo's response would've given him a charitable assessment of his words and intent.
Maybe Bevo's comments about 2 or 3 journo's being less than honest.. struck a chord in those two??
Because they didn't take the whole interview in context. Bevo is an Australian sportsman and coach trying to answer a bunch of fairly uninteresting questions. He is using a bit of humor in the context of his extended family and their passion for his job.
SEN and other news agencies have it in their best interest to beat stuff like that up.
