Murphy set for sideline stint
Western Bulldogs captain Bob Murphy is expected to miss the next three or four weeks of football with a hamstring injury.
Murphy suffered a hamstring strain during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s Round 10 win over St Kilda.
“Our assessment over the last 24 hours has confirmed that Bob has a moderate grade hamstring injury,” said Bulldogs’ Medical Services Manager Chris Bell.
“We’re also going to use this time while he’s in rehab to perform a quick arthroscopic cleanout on his knee, to address some of the minor signs of wear and tear he’s had.”
Bulldogs’ forward Clay Smith is expected to miss at least a fortnight with a minor calf strain, after he was a late withdrawal from the match against the Saints.
The Club is hopeful Matthew Boyd, Brad Lynch and Patrick Lipinski will be available following this weekend’s bye.
Re: Injury List - 2017 Season
Might be a blessing in disguise for Bob. Clean up the knee which may have been giving him some grief and freshen him up for the second half of the year.
Re: Injury List - 2017 Season
3-4 weeks ain't as bad as I was expecting. I thought it could've been a tendon which is much much worse. I have learned to expect the worst these days.
Re: Injury List - 2017 Season
Will give Bob time to recharge the batteries before we head into business part of season. And provide more opportunity for Maclean/Webb/Honey to be called up.

Re: Injury List - 2017 Season
I'm hoping Lynch gets back real soon, rips it up and gets elevated into Crameri's spot (LTI).

Best it's looked in 2 years (as I write this I'm knocking on a giant oak tree).

He was in the Social Club on Saturday - said he felt ready to go on the weekend but the medicos were conservative and held him back until after the bye.

The Dogs will have to do without skipper Murphy and forward Smith for the next few weeks, but should regain defender Boyd for the round 12 clash with Sydney. Youngsters Lynch and Lipinski should resume through the VFL after Footscray's bye this weekend. - Ryan Davidson |

Murphy hasn't changed status. I wonder if the hammy or knee is a little worse than first thought.

Yes good question. I haven't heard any recent updates about Bob.

Don't know why Crameri isn't listed

Maybe trying to create doubt around him and the injury, let him slip to our first rookie draft choice??
Or, I have no idea.

They stuff up at least one player every week.
