    2013 Browlow Medal

With the Brownlow coming this month I went and had a look at Ryan Griffen's season and wondered how he would fair.

Total 18. I tried to be unbiased and figured that the winning team will get the 3 votes most times. The last person to win it on 18 votes was Wanganeen in 1993.
Plus don't count out the Goateed warrior taking some votes away.
Not the Dogs year this year.

Up until a month ago, G Ablett looked like romping in, now I think the Geelong Captain is in with a chance, with Griffen up close. It will depend on those losing games and whether the umpire will be unbiased on picking the B&F, no matter if the team won or not..

Selwood came close towards the end of the year but probably still needed a big game in the last round which he didn't have. Griff might come top 5.

Coons will get a few too.

Got a dilemma as I got on Griff at start of year at 151 to 1. Didn't put much on it so will let it ride rather than cash in. It's pretty open this year - got a feeling Ablett will get home again, but Griff is a great chance. I don't think we won enough games and he was finding the tag harder to break as the year went on so might fade out of calculations at the end of year

GC won the same number of games as us.

Much as I love him, Griff isn't Ablett.

Just not sure he will get as many 3 votes in losing sides as Ablett. There's still a bias to reputation in Brownlow count - for example Judd's second Brownlow. Same could be said for AA selection with Libba.

    You are right about that

Griff has been great but he hasn't been as good as Ablett this year. Not even close really. The only bias going on here is talk of Griff winning the Brownlow or being robbed by a bias towards Ablett.

Ablett will romp it in imo, but if it is a close count you can bet Ablett gets a 3 for the last game of the season collecting 33 possies and kicking 4 goals.

It will be interesting to see how many votes Libba gets. He is right under the umps noses all the time.

That crossed my mind to when I was reviewing Griff's season. Libba didn't miss a game and was only 8 disposals behind Griffen.

You'd think Libba will probably poll more votes than Griff in the second half of the season, particularly the last few games.

Even though Libba deserved AA if he had of got it that would of meant a bottom four side had the Ruckman and two Rovers...

If Port can win the Elimination final, Libba can win the Brownlow.
