He's already the best player in the comp. mostly because he wins so many games for us. No other player has the influence he has.

He's just chugging along at the moment too. Putting excellent numbers together, but because he's playing so much forward he's stifled a lot by closer checking than he'd get in the middle. Essentially he's playing the second hardest role on the field right now. Low and high forward who goes into the middle and needs to have an impact at all times to keep his team afloat.

Eddie Betts and his ilk play the hardest role in modern footy these days. Expected to have an impact playing deep which is largely dependent on the fortunes of the team in front of him.

I'm sure most on here have observed that Marcus is pretty much always our best second half player - however, almost always seems to start quite slowly and not get his hands on the footy much in the first quarter. This trend for Bont would certainly be one of the reasons that we are started slowly but then finishing well as a team.

Given we are often struggling to get a score on the board early, and Marcus is battling to get a kick in the midfield in 1st quarters - would it be worth looking at weighting his 1st quarter time much more heavily towards playing forward?

Jack Macrae can start slow as well but does work home hard.

According to Fox Footy he is the League's best 2nd half player....or is it 4th quarter....not sure which.

Bont one of the most important players in our team. Sure in games this year he may have not got a truckload of the ball but his impact on games really comes through.

If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Today he was amazing .. In the middle, down back, up forward he just controlled the game when it needed to be won.

    He is our LeBron James.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

    Re: Marcus Bontempelli

He's amazing, and should have had a three or four goal game to go with his other ten scoring involvements rather than just the two.

One thing he needs to get better at is bringing players into the game in a more simple manner, as he sometimes over complicates things - particularly when he has it around centre to half forward.

    But, he's amazing.
