Re: What a GREAT banner
That reminds me, did anyone see last week's banner, it was drooping down on the TV coverage and I couldn't read it.
* EDIT
Don't worry I thought of checking Danny's Twitter feed. All good!

Not a fan of the dog's banner against the saints calling for an aboriginal treaty. Whether I agree with the sentiment or not, I would prefer we didn't use the banner to fight political issues.
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

It was indigenous round.

A little simplistic surely. Indigenous round is much more than one political aspect. Not all aboriginals agree with the call for a treaty.

Nothing about a treaty on the banner

No problem with this but try the other side....it called for a "treaty now".

Re: What a GREAT banner
Personally I found Martin Flanagan referring to John Schultz as "an elder of our club" far more disturbing.

Sorry, didn't see the other side.

Hmmm which Aboriginal community do you know of that doesn't? Most I know do. The Uluru Statement appears pretty clear cut in terms of what communities across Australia want to me.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I don't doubt that there is clearly a majority view......I just don't think a cheer squad banner is appropriate for political messages. That's just my view.

Sticking up for the needs and wants of the majority and a discriminated against but genuinely entitled minority all at once maybe a couple of moments a year probably isn't a bad thing.
If political statements were being jammed down our throats every week on the banner it would be a bit much I agree, but I personally think this issue is more important than how we commemorate ANZAC Day, everyone lets that pass by without comment.
Nobody's looking for a puppeteer in today's wintry economic climate.
