Peter is no longer in Slaters. Also the Gordon in the name is not that of Peter's name it was Slater & Gordon from along time ago, well before PG joined.

My understanding (and I could be wrong, but this was what I was told), is that he has a controlling share of the company?

I don't know about shareholding but he is not on the Board or Executive management team. He may have influence, who knows but this sponsorship is by the entity.

Correct. The company is about 80 years old, and the Gordon in the name and Peter working there - a coincidence only.

The Gordon it's named after died in a plane over during a raid over France in WWI.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Slater and Gordon are a massive listed company (market cap of $2.3 billion) - I know Peter has some money but a controlling share, I doubt it.

He's not listed in the 20 largest shareholders either (the largest shareholders are big corporates).

Yeah I was wondering if the name was from Peter Gordon. I read about the history of the law firm and it was named after I guy called Hugh Gordon. I don't think he has any relation to Peter just coincidence.

I think you will find that our Gordon was at the firm when it floated on the ASX. Making he and the other initial shareholders very, very wealthy and I've not heard that he's offloaded his share holding. His new firm is Gordon Legal which is also doing very well.

Whether it's his personal pocket or at his direction as a shareholder or director, it's cash baby and bloody thank Christ for it!

Yes he formed his own legal firm after leaving Slater and Gordon. He is a very smart man.

He sold his holding a couple of years ago before he set his own firm up.

Well in that case perhaps we couldn't sell this package of sponsorship and we thought it best go to someone?

Yep. This stage in the season seems to me to be a funny time to be paying for a sponsorship.
