Fair effort to still be playing at 40. First player since 1927. Twenty two years as an AFL footballer.
That is some achievement. Hopefully our Bob will be the next

He's a genetic freak . I couldn't jog without straining a calf muscle at 40, yet this guy is playing high pressure professional sport .
Been lucky injury wise as well. The body shape helps as well.
Even though he plays for a team I hate, congratulations go to him. Its a remarkable achievement. Soon to hit 400 games.
Maybe Brad Johnson can come out of retirement, he is still only 39.

Where does he stand in the rankings of AFL players? Significant effort to still be playing, but would he go near a top 50 list? Top 100?
Absolutely magnificent effort and congrats to him.
From memory Sheedy , in Fletchers early years protected him a bit and he always went to the second or third string forward.
Without doing the exercise, I would think he would struggle to get into my top 100.
That aside I would have loved to have had Fletch, his work ethic, consistency and longevity at our club.

I got out this old vhs / 100 years of football. It has all this old Ch 7 footage, Lou Richards and stuff about Ted Whitten.
And who should they have at the end wearing a schoolboy tie but D. Fletcher.

He has certainly played plenty of good games against us in his 23 years.
Quite staggering that when his team mate, Kyle Langford, was born, Fletch had already played 75 games, including 8 finals and a Premiership.
