Bulldogs record consecutive profit
Link
For the second consecutive year, the Western Bulldogs Football Club has delivered a strong financial result, reporting a profit of $388k for 2015.
The positive result was underpinned by annual revenue of $41, 321,293, up $3.78 million on last year.
The strong revenue growth was accompanied by record club membership of 36,122 in 2015.

These results have enabled the Western Bulldogs to invest an additional $2.5m into our football department in 2015, up from $1.8m in 2014 - a $4.3m increase over two years.
Club President Peter Gordon said the Club was really pleased with the result.
"We've increased revenues over pretty much all income activities of the Club including membership, sponsorship and other financial support from our members and supporters".
"It's also worth pointing out that football club revenues over the past two years have increased by $7.3 million of which only $1.1million has come from enhanced AFL competitive balance measures. Themajority of our revenue growth has come from the Club's main operating activities.
“We think this shows that competitive balance measures, far from making clubs complacent, can actually assist in generating organic growth in the business. Put another way, 72% of our revenue growth is due to the club's efforts and not the AFL's.”
"I would like to thank our loyal members, sponsors and corporate partners for their ongoing support in 2015.
“I also want to sincerely thank our staff and our players. Their hard work and relentless dedication turned a year of considerable challenge into one which will long be remembered and which builds an unprecedented opportunity over the next several years."
Gordon called on the Bulldog community to get behind the Club by signing up as a Member in 2016 - to ensure we continue to build on the fantastic momentum achieved this season.
Notable achievements in 2015 for the Western Bulldogs include;
1.) Record Club revenue of $41,321,293 up $3.78m on last year.
2.) Record Club membership of 36,122.
3.) Additional investment of $2.5m in football department up from $1.8m in 2014.
4.) Five year multi-million dollar partnership with the State Government to support the Clubs expansion into Ballarat and Western Victoria.

Great work by Peter and the team - well done and let's build and continue the success, off the field and especially on.

Re: Bulldogs record consecutive profit
Gee the extra $4.3m into the football department over the past 2 seasons is impressive. The theory is that greater spending leads to better results which leads to greater support, sponsorship and revenue creating a positive cycle. That theory is looking on track, but the next year or 2 are so, so crucial for our club.

Our total profit equals the budget for Manchester United's end of year trip to Ibiza.

Yep. They wouldn't get out of bed for 388, 000 measley dollars let alone traipse all the way to Ibiza.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Re: Bulldogs record consecutive profit
Excellent effort once again by our President and the team at the Whitten Oval especially when considering we are increasing our spend on the footy department.
I dearly hope that we start recording profits in excess of $600K in the not too distant future because it will just give us considerable opportunities to retire debt or invest more into revenue streams.
Peter has certainly steadied the ship and has us focused on a long and successful future.

This is great news for our club as in the past financially we haven't been in the best shape but now things have changed and we are doing very well making a another profit. Let's keep it up.

If this doesn't resemble a successful growing developing club..
So many people/companies/supporters/sponsors to thank...
This is a far cry from the merger threat which nearly destroyed our club..
For as long as we have the right people in the right positions at the kennel..
That itself will guarantee success..
Thankyou to all concerned..

It certainly has. The ultimate high is yet to come but the full dress rehearsal that was the Footscray premiership went pretty well.

Imagine what Edgewater should've done to these and future figures.
With the years of on field success we hope we are seeing soon, we need to make some serious hay while the sun shines. Get rid of the debt and set up new income generating opportunities. A premiership cup or 4 might help the cause.

Re: Bulldogs record consecutive profit
We have to get a licensed social venue somewhere in the West. And build one or get one in West Footscray. Knocking that awful building on the corner of cross street and Gordon sreet and locating it there would be a good idea.

Id say we have the Whitten Social club at Etihad as a social type venue for our supporters but yes it would be logical to have a licensed venue at the Whitten Oval. The 2 we have currently are Club Leeds in Footscray and the Peninsula Club in Dromana.

This breaks the figures down a little more.
What a man PG is. So hope he's at the helm when we raise our next Cup.

Re: Bulldogs record consecutive profit
It is important to keep things in perspective. We recorded a $388k profit after a $1mill donation from PG, $2.8 mill from the AFL future fund and our debt remains at $9.75 mill.
No doubt we are heading in the right direction, but there is a lot of work still to do.
