Where we have recruited kids from since 1999

I was doing this out of my own curiosity, so thought I'd share. These are kids our club drafted direct, not mature agers etc:

    Victoria:

Gippsland Power: Bob Murphy, Shane Birss, Nick Greenwood, Clay Smith, Lukas Webb, Josh Dunkley (good return)
Western Jets: Daniel Giansiracusa, Callan Ward, Lachie Hunter (FS) , Luke Goetz (hopefully nailed all 4 on skill and AFEL ability)
Murray Bushrangers: Daniel Cross, Jarrad Harbrow, Josh Prudden, Jamason Daniels (so-so)
Oakleigh Chargers: Sam Power, Daniel Pearce, Lin Jong, Jackson Macrae, Toby McLean (good return)
Eastern Ranges: Lindsay Gilbee, Keiran McGuinness, Alex Greenwood, Mitch Honeychurch (so-so)
Northern Knights: Brent Colbert, Tim Walsh, Tom Hill, Nathan Hrovat, Marcus Bontempelli (thank Christ for Bonts)
Calder Cannons: Brad Murphy, Cam Wight, Mitch Wallis & Tom Liberatore (FS), Tahleeya, Roarke Smith (take out FS & not great)
Geelong Falcons: Shaun Higgins, Ayce & Zaine Cordy (FS), Guy O'Keefe, Luke Dahlhaus (good return)
    Camperdown: Easton Wood (great)
    Bendigo Pioneeres: Jake Stringer (great)
North Ballarat: Jordan Roughead, Andrew Hooper (jury is still out)
Dandenong Stingrays: Damien McCormack, Rowan Nanya, Andreajs Everitt, Jarrad Grant, Jarrad Boumann, Bailey Dale, Keiran Collins (if not for the last two, disaster)

    South Australia:

Woodville West Torrens: Brian Harris, Izaac Thompson
    North Adelaide: Henry White
West Adelaide: Steven Tiller, Adam Cooney
    South Adelaide: Gryphone, Caleb Daniel
Norwood: Will Minson, Gavin Hughes, Matthew Panos
    Port Adelaide: Declan Hamilton
    Central District: Cam Faulkner
Glenelg: Jordan McMahon, Christian Howard, Bailey Williams
    - We nail or fail the picks. No mid range players really recruited.

    Western Australia:

    Peel Thunder:
    Farren Ray
East Fremantle: Jayden Schofield, Jason Johanison
    Claremont: Josh Hill
    Swan District: Brad Lynch
Perth: Ryan Hargrave, Brennan Stack (a-go-go)
    West Perth: Wayde Skipper
    - Our WA scouts have been pretty good

    Tasmania:

Pat Wiggins (35), Jesse Wells (22), Liam Jones (31)
    - Note to self, get new scouts in Tassie (passed on Riewoldt for Everitt) or don't draft from there (Michael Martin (14) was a few years before too)

    Northern States:

    Zillmere: Sam Reid
    Ainsley: Jason Tutt
    Wanderers: Shane Thorne
    NSW/ACT Rams: Malcolm Lynch
    Redlands: Paul O'Shea, Michael West
    Morningside: Tom Williams
    Northern Eagles: Mitch Hahn
    St George: Dylan F. Addison
    Night Cliff: Zeph Skinner
    Southport: James Mulligan
    - Hope we have new scouts north of the Murray River now.

Does it include last year's draft? No Adams from WA? Or Calab Daniels?

Oops sorry, we have no Caleb Daniels, my bad.

Caleb Daniel comes from SA, you're quite right there.

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Adams is mature age. This was from under 18's list.

    Hang on everyone.

Did BT call Jarrad Grant, and I quote, "a disaster" in the OP or do my eyes deceive me?

I've been saying this since day one. Perhaps I've been misunderstood...

The Stingrays have really hurt us at the pointy end. Here's hoping Dad & Dale Buck the trend.

I believe he said that the group of Damien McCormack, Rowan Nanya, Andreajs Everitt, Jarrad Grant, Jarrad Boumann were a disaster - were it not for Dale and Collins (who are nothing but promising at this point.)

I think that's fair comment. Grant was a top 5 pick who never came on, yet took close to a decade to fizzle out.. Add him to several other duds and it's fair to say Dandenong Stingrays have been bloody ordinary for us.

It's funny how our best strike rates are in our old zones (Gippsland and the western suburbs)!!

Interesting observation Webby. In the new academies we got Western Jets area and Western Victoria didn't we?

As for the Northern states, I wonder with the academies they've got whether there's any point having scouts up there. If the list in the OP only gets weaker as academies up there get better at their business, seems almost pointless.
