He just needed the confidence, the ability was always there.

will he exclusively play as a KPF or ruck as well

That one. Camhead doing most of the ruckwork with Tom providing cover.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

It does BAD, semantics are everything on the interwebs.
Nobody's looking for a puppeteer in today's wintry economic climate.

Are you accusing him of being anti-semantic?

There are little things that you see with a player that you know yep they have arrived. In the the 4th quarter we were trying to get the ball out of defence, Boyd was coming off the pine and he ran hard to provide a target. He pointed were he wanted it, demanded the footy for the first time and smashed the pack and took his best mark of the final. I remember looking to my old man before he took it and said look Boyd is demanding the footy! A bulldog tall dominating the second half of a grand final. You wouldn't read about it, until now!

Everybody in the stadium saw Boyd come off the bench waving his arms I reckon. Everyone around us was yelling "Boyd, Boyd" then we all drew breath while the kick was on the air followed by a big "TOMMY!!!" when he took the big mark.

Bits of it are coming back to me.

    Re: Tom Boyd

Boyd has never looked comfortable as a key forward and has clearly come of age during the final series as a ruckman. Could have won the Norm Smith Medal in a tremendous game and took over in the prelim final against Mumford in another quality display.

That was a terrific effort against Mumford. His last quarter was epic.
