Interesting, considering other veterans like MBoyd and Morris are continuing on.

Can understand where he is coming from as he would have wanted to finish is career on a high but even if he did play in the grand final I still would of wanted Bob to continue on.

Well your just going to have to retire after this year's Grand Final Bob. What a great incentive to go back to back for all our kids. The guru of the footy club's last year. Bevo will have a field day with that one during the 2017 finals series.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

By nature he's a fairly laconic type who has a ready made career for himself once he finishes playing. It doesn't really surprise me that he would have retired had he played in a winning GF side.
Matthew Boyd might have a bit of media work ahead of him or maybe moving into a bit of coaching but I could see him taking 12 months off and spending it with his kids. I'm not sure what Morris might do after footy.
I can see why they would want to stay on.

I would think given Boyd's study history, drive and leadership qualities he would probably be ripe for a consulting job somewhere post football.

He has an MBA doesn't he?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

He might now. I know he earned a commerce degree.
