Bankers And Anchors - Round 1 2017 vs Collingwood

This is the round 1 2017 edition of the Weekly Bankers and Anchors Thread. Once the game against Collingwood is concluded post your nominations for:

The Bankers = 3 guys/aspects of the game that we banked on to do the right thing during the game
The Anchors = 3 guys/aspects of the game that weighed us down by their errors or poor play

Please limit it to no more than three of each player or aspect of the game, but feel free to make honourable/dishonourable mentions. As usual try to make it constructive criticism.

Try and restrict it to individual players rather than aspects of the overall match - I will allow more freedom now as the thread seems to be going down more of the aspects of the game path so you can have 3 for each made up of aspects of the game and individual players or purely just individual players or individual aspects.

The thread is named in honour of a popular WOOF Contributor, The Banker, who passed away on 22/04/2012 after a six month battle with cancer.

    B:

    Roberts. Thought he was solid.
Murphy. Really important in the third.
The 'Ins': Cloke, Crameri, Suckling & Murphy. All will keep getting better.

    A:

Daniel. Going to be a very, very good player. Could be his worst AFL game.
Jong. Had the spot of Smith/Dunkley, and whilst tackles were up, not sure he provided more than they could've tonight.
Moz injury, however bad it is. You can't tell how bad it is with him.

    Crameri. Awesome come back game
    Murph Hooray
Cloke did well, that goal was a big moment in his career

    A

Daniel. Woeful. Forget it and move on
Jong, did he get more than 5 possessions?
Collingwood being in the top 4

    B
Thought Cloke was a steadying influence
Murph going forward changed the game in the third quarter.
    Roberts was terrific.

    A
Jong, Dahl, Biggs, Daniel and McLean were all quiet.
Really sloppy defence on Pendlebury on the outside.
Morris scaring the bejesus out of me.
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

    Extra Banker:

Cooney might be retired from Essendon & Taylor Adams is not at GWS anymore... But my boy Zaine giving Adams his long overdue whack in the head from Bulldogs player.

Cloke - will be a plus
Murphy - hasn't missed a beat, welcome back.
Roberts - is improving and is pretty solid down back at the moment.

    A
Whoever let their midfield off the leash.
Their supporters, several giving the bird every time we goaled at their end, get a life.

    Bankers:

Hunter - Seem to be in a lot of it
    JJ - Really good game
Morris - just a champ excellent down back
    Addition mentions: Cloke and Murph

    Anchors:

The lapses we had in the game (notably the 2nd quarter)
T Boyd - a little quiet but will be fine
Morris injury from what Ive read on woof - I hope nothing serious

    Bankers

    1. Murph moved so well. If he can get through the year, he'll be a huge inclusion.
    2. Some really nice transition from defence. Looks like we'll be more attacking.
    3. Fletch seems to have gained confidence and gave Moore a bath.

    Anchors

    1. Midfield set up.
    2. Daniel was well under par. Has he reached his ceiling?
    3. Stringer needs to nail those set shots at the death.

Extra anchor to the Collingwood flog behind me who gave it to Tom Boyd all game, using such creative slurs as 'Mr Millionaire' to which I countered that it was actually Mr Premiership Millionaire. Seriously, after basically winning us a flag, give it a rest you flogs.

Yeah they need to give that a rest. He came alive in the grand final last year and will be fine handling what the media out there want to say.

B- The back 6 ( tremendous ,considering how dreadful we were in clearances )
The comeback of Bob Murphy ( great tonight )
Answering the serious challenge after half time
A- Midfield ( we got flogged getting first hands, and some awful defensive setups at clearances )
The 7.50 start. Change it to 7.10

    Bankers

    1. The end to end goals and accurate kicking in the first half

    2. Suckling's kicking is incredible

    3. Cloke's goal to shut the Pie army up.

    Anchors

    1. Stringers set shots in the last

    2. Jong - mids must get more than 11 lousy disposals - I just can't work out if he is going to make it ornot.

    3. Pray that Morris doesn't have a serious injury. He was fantastic tonight.

The mechanism was not dissimilar to Dane Swan's injury in R1 last year. Not saying it's the same injury but I daresay he will be a sore boy tonight and for most of the next week.
