All hypothetical. What's fact though is that it's a shit, half arsed award that has has no real relevance other than to give the AFEL another naming rights event for their major sponsor. It has no relevance and I don't care if we never, ever have another nomination because it's more meaningless than being given a phone book.

No, I love your work BAD on this and other threads. This 'award' just has no meaning to me, I vary between being ambivalent about it to ranting about it. Today, rant. Now, nothing to me. Tomorrow, who knows?

I reckon tomorrow will be a non-event. More likely you'll hold fire for another seven days and pull out something from the spectrum.

No you're comments are more than welcome. I think since Taylor was regarded as the Rising Star over Bontempelli I don't think this award is as relevant to many here but I still enjoy seeing the weekly nominations.

Carlton have done well to get 4 nominations which is a good sign they are on the right path

Agree the voting system is a farce, but generally the players nominated are the best for the week. I really thought Williams was very close to getting a nomination earlier in the season, perhaps he still will.

Even though we don't think Taylor should have won, he still is a pretty good player. Personally I think Caleb should have won last year as he was very consistent over the whole season, whereas Mills only played some good games in the second half.

The weekly awards hold more meaning than the end of season.

Good point TD. Weekly winners may only play a few games for the season and generally will not win the award.

That was Honeychurch and his nomination, case in point.

    Yep.

Is it worth pointing out we could have drafted him if we didn't trade our Pick 11 away?

If only we ever had a top 11 pick and could have a crack at a talent like Charlie Curnow.

You know what I think of the award generally. That aside, Young should get one for today.
