Re: Western Bulldogs hope Ballarat clash persuades state government to boost Eureka Stadiumís capacity

Two weeks ago: Night training - North Ballarat Roosters

    Yesterday (16 June 17):

The ground is about two weeks from completion of the first stage. The Council and builders are obviously quite keen for the government to announce funding for the second stage, but that is not expected until at least August at the earliest. I have recently seen the lighting being tested and to say that the ground looks 'amazing under lighting' is an understatement. The effect of the upward LED lighting against the stand roofs, and coloured LED back-lighting of the perspex triangles behind the stands really adds character. They have also built in high intensity LED down-lights around the front of the larger stand to prevent shadowing of the roof-line from at night. But the effect is that the ground is about 50% brighter at the boundary, so when the stand is eventually built around 60% of the perimeter the ground will be very light when combined with the light towers (which are only 60% loaded at the moment). The daytime view from the North Ballarat Sports Club across the ground South East toward Mount Buninyong is breathtaking. It really is quite an intimate and beautiful ground, which isn't bad for what was definitely once one of the worst grounds in the VFL for atmosphere. It really has been transformed.

Looks really good. A lot in Ballarat and surrounds must be looking forward to AFL footy coming there soon especially our supporters from there. Thanks for sharing Woofer.
