Re: AFL Round 8, 2017 Discussion
There was a great breakdown about how it all went wrong for the Tigers on Sunday.
It all started with Neale going on to Dusty Martin, knowing that Martin would pay no attention to him.
Then the Freo half forwards moved away from the centre square, with the Richmond defenders following them rather than guarding the back of the square.
Finally all the deep Freo forwards moved to the left, leaving a huge space to the right of the goals, and allowing Mundy to lead into open space.
The worst 21 seconds of defence all season!!!

Its basically a book entitled "How to out-coach a hack", written by Ross Lyon.

Stand on the wing by himself and not go near the ball?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

He was meant to be watching the spitter coming off the back of the square; when they didn't "spit" then it was reasonable for him not to move, even if it looked terrible.
What was more astounding was that despite the pantomiming for players to "get back" after the goal, Richmond still had 4 forwards and only 1 loose man in the backline, and no one occupying the space at CHB.
Think most of the blame has to go to the players on this; I know its fun to paste Hardwick and Richmond's administrative ineptitude, but how can a guy like Jack Riewoldt not have the common sense to get to the backline in a situation like that?
