2014 Draft - turning out pretty well.

Type Round Pick Player Current Team Games Since Drafted *
National 2 26 Toby McLean Western Bulldogs 32
National 2 27 Compensation Lukas Webb Western Bulldogs 17
National 2 39 Compensation Declan Hamilton Western Bulldogs 0
National 3 45 Bailey Dale Western Bulldogs 24
National 3 46 Caleb Daniel Western Bulldogs 48
    National 4 62 Father/Son Zaine Cordy Western Bulldogs 24

4 of the 6 above played today and contributed to a very good win. We know Webb is on the brink and Hamilton an emergency today and could get an opportunity in the coming weeks.

We are really reaping the benefits of this draft.

Good effort with no picks in the top 25
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

I'd like to be seeing more of Webb, but something doesn't seem right. I'm hoping we get 800 games or more out of this draft, which is a huge return. Made more remarkable, as boydogs says, not having a top 25 pick.

Yep, with Cooney. Hamilton (35) was the main course, and Biggs was the after dinner mint... Didn't quite work out that way.

Sorry to take it off track but how about the Curnow pick 12 for Dunkely and Collins?

Too early. Although Dunkley has a premiership medal.

I thought it would be either you or Twodogs to play the premiership medal card

I don't usually play it, but it's still way too early. Dal sounded like he was set on either of the boys we ended up taking. Dunkley had an outstanding first year and Collins is still developing nicely. I'd say come back to this in 14 months for a good analysis.

It's become the typical the 'go to' answer whenever a player of ours gets compared an opposition player

If you believe what we read, then both Collins and Dunkely would have been our selection at 11 and of course we got both in the 20's with the picks we had despite also bidding on Keys.

Curnow looks a good prospect a real good prospect. If he was in the red, white and blue I think he would be getting strong reviews.

Dunks has been impressive and Collins was always a long term prospect.

At the moment you'd have Curnow in front but we forget just how good a player Dunkley is because he's injured. If he was on the field and tearing it up the way he was late last year then we'd all be patting ourselves on the back.

Far too early to be talking about a KPD for comparisons.

Curnow is a very impressive kid though, looked good yesterday.

Curnow is a jet - we really need Collins to come good for this trade to work in our favour. Dunks will be a very good player for a very long time for us, but Curnow is undoubtedly a more exciting prospect with a higher ceiling.

We will get great value out of Dunks - we've missed him significantly this season.
