I will never understand the state choice for players , it makes a mockery of the draft .
It's been designed for a competition that has dwindling viewership and participation.
I 100% agree that fixturing has been bad...but the networks have a large say here and the problem is ratings are sinking so they don't want them on in prime time.
I have no idea what the way out is right now - there are simply too many teams for the talent available. In the state leagues, younger and younger players are playing 'league' footy which is compromising the standard of the supposed talent/underage competitions...it needs a bottom UP review not top down...BUT we keep on faffing about with solutions at the top without consideration of what is below, well, we're gonna get what we get.
This mismanagement of women's footy and the complete disregard of the state of the game at lower levels is confounding.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Is it really? The office of the executive at City Hall all get their exorbitant bonuses on top of their almost 7 figures salaries each, off the back of the game being awash with TV rights money. The state of the actual game at lower leagues is simply not a concern for them.

What do you want to update it to mate?
Part of the issue we are talking about is we have new threads every day for the men's comp and one thread for every AFLW issue - games and otherwise - under the sun.
It's part of what's wrong with it...
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

I asked several times why we deleted the AFLW forum and ended up with one thread, but never got an answer, so gave up

Daisy is being paid $500k so not sure we were even considered. That is more than some AFL coaches. They have been able to get around the salary cap.
Considering the previous Eagles coach Michale Prior was on $120k you would hope to see some improvement.

Wow, guess that explains why she decided to move to Perth rather than take one of open Melbourne based jobs. That's crazy money.

It's almost impossible to describe how much pressure West Coast are under over here. They are failing at all levels at the moment and need to do 'something'...

Why weren't they named Perth Mike? West coast is a horrible name. Although I think they have the best jumpers.

Her husband is a work colleague of mine. I am curious to know how it's going to work out - although that amount of fat cash is impossible to ignore so I get it.
