Also we got what most clubs ask for..

    2 games against Collingwood

And 2 against Geelong wont hurt us either..

    Biggest Blockbuster Fixture yet.

I thought AD had sounded a bit unwell the last couple of months, this confirms it.

If you rank each team based on their ladder position for 2008 our draw puts us in the favourable half. Alarmingly, Hawthorn have the equal 2nd "softest" draw along with the Tigers and incredibly, Melbourne have the 2nd hardest draw (Sydney the toughest).

Essendon is the only decent drawing home game we miss out on. The other home games are against Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne.

Plus a Easter Monday game v the Tigers!

Too bad we don't get one extra zac out of Collins for all these high drawing games.

And our 1 MCG home game is against North. The AFL are on drugs.

Best we can hope for is a 6 day break (don't start replying with this "maybe" crap; we will be there)

Only negative is a lack of FTA coverage. Though for me it's great as i have Foxtel and it's better live without ads and Buckleys.

One game at AAMI against the Crows, about what was expected I guess, although it would be good to see us play Port and have a win down here for once!

Might have to make a trip over to Melbourne for the Geelong game, as I'm be heading O/S not long after that.

    Re: 2009 AFL Draw

Not a bad draw for the might of the west, my humble opinion of what we have been dealt is as follows:

No trip to Geelong - excellent, should be good to see us play the cats live next year!
No trip to Tassie – ok, went this year and was a cracking game to be at!!
No Sydney at the SCG – excellent, went to this game this year as well, save an airfare next year!!
    Hawthorn once – you beauty
Melbourne once – no good, we need percentage!
North twice – bad, they have the wood over us!!
Geelong twice – bad, hopoe we can win at least one against them
Richmond twice – badish, seem to strugle against them for some reason like north
1 less interstate game than this year, 6 instead of 7 – good, good
Good run home but a tough start we three intersate trips in first seven rounds
5 Friday night games – good, should help with getting a major sponsor over the line - we hope!

Looking forward to trips up to Brissy and Darwin next year.

Only 156 days to the first game against Freo - let the countdown begin!!

Yes and no to this. The quality of the fox coverage this year made 7 and 10 look like geniuses and they were far from it.

Good draw. Finally our form is paying off with 5 Friday night games, although i would have rathered a couple within the first 5 matches.

    Re: 2009 AFL Draw

Not too bad a draw ...

I get to see the boys twice over here in the first four rounds ... Bonus

I'm travelling to Melbourne for round 13 ... Bonus

Five Friday night games ... Bonus

Quite a few home games against teams with a large fan base = more revenue ... Bonus

AND an Easter Monday blockbuster against the Tiges ... Bonus

In saying all of this though overall, I still think 2008's draw was better !
