I would like to get him. He's big, quick and young and I think he's got a lot to work with.

Re: The Rumour Mill
Good deal for both parties ( even though it's Essendon)
He's 29 and a dodgy knee, so I don't get the comparison with Stanley.
Obviously Geelong think there's a bit to work with in Stanley, and I think that's a deal favouring Stkilda.
Going to have a very young list next season

I haven't met him but he and Lowden are friends with my daughter who's only 5'4''! I told her to tell him to come to the Dogs after seeing him win the VFL goalkicking. That was PTB (pre Tom Boyd).

If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Is that Scharnburg who's head is exploding?
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

It would been 39 (after the Biggs trade) up to 28 as opposed to 82 up to 46. We've got 5 picks in the top 50 now ala 2012

Seems to get lost in the Recruitment of Big Tom .
Pretty good draft position all things considering.

He was 194cm at the draft camp, so at a minimum he's at least that. The club website is almost always wrong. 195cm (6'5) is probably right.

Weren't the draft combine measurements wrong last year? I thought he was more likely 192/193cm.

It is sort of like we traded up and effectively had pick 1 already with the Tom Boyd recruitment. We have scored another recruit, Zaine Cordy, with pick 64 via F/S. I have seen 3 ratings which have Cordy at 24th, 37th and 39th best prospect in the draft, so its sort of like we got another early second round to early 3rd round pick for a mid 4th round pick.
We now have 2 mid 2nd round picks (26, 27), three early-to-mid 3rd round picks (39, 45, 46) and one mid 4th round (82) which perhaps could be ditched in favour of DFA recruit. (I don't buy the way the AFL keeps extending the first and 2nd rounds, to me round 1 is strictly picks 1-18, round 2 is 19-36, round 3 is 37-54, and so on).
So, yeah I agree with Remi.
Of the players we have lost, only Griffen bothers me but I am happy with compensation.

He's listed as 192 everywhere but maybe they're just taking that from the club website. Either way he is a tall mid. I wonder if we'll play him in a key position more when he develops. Kade Kolodjashnij is apparently 190 and Bonts looks 3-4 cm taller than him.

Agree, he could be a KPF if he fills out a bit more, which he probably will. He has shown in his first year that he is a better-than-good overhead mark.

Re: The Rumour Mill
At last years combine Bonts measured in at 193.9cm.
