Toby McLean (69 of possible 72) was the standout player in a disappointing team. Cordy and Bontempelli (both 29) tied for the runner up position from Macrae (21), with Suckling (19) close up. Others to get votes were Bailey Dale (7), with Lachie Hunter, Jack Redpath and Jordan Roughead each attracting 2 votes.
James –
McLean (33 of possible 34) was the clear choice from Cordy (9) narrowly over Bontempelli (8) with Bailey Dale recording a single vote.
Note that there were several instances where the James votes conflicted with the Marmo. Whenever that occurs, I adjust the James voting so that they follow those awarded in the Marmo.

Bontempelli (71 of possible 76) was our standout player with the consistent Macrae (48) in second position. Toby Mclean (28) continues his outstanding form, while Caleb Daniel (26) was also a strong performer. Bailey Dale (14) just missed the top 4, while Lewis Young recorded 2 votes with his terrific debut performance. JJ (1) with a return to some form was the other player to attract votes.

Bontempelli (36 of possible 38) was the clear choice from McLean (10) and Daniel (7), with the other vote scorer Bailey Dale (4)

While the season has been a little disappointing to date the collation of the voting highlights that we are still a young team and largely carried by those younger players.

Interesting that many don't have Daniel as an improved player with IIRC some saying he's been disappointing but his votes in the Marmo and James indicate he's been quite an improver this year

I think what it is with people saying no-one's improving is we became used to having a really young side and having half the team step up each year. Now we're maturing, it's only the 2014 and younger guys stepping up

Liam Picken (90 of possible 96) was the standout with his best game of the season. Shane Biggs (52) also produced his best game of 2017, while Macrae (23) maintained his consistency to narrowly take 3rd place from Mitch Wallis (22) and Toby McLean (21), in a very tight contest decided by the last votes cast. Luke Dahlhaus (15) also had a welcome return to form, with Bailey Dale (7), Hunter, Redpath and Caleb Daniel (all 3) and Mitch Honeychurch (1) the other vote scorers.

While we weren’t able to send our retiring players out with a win it was certainly not the fault of one of those retirees with Mathew Boyd (66 of a possible 68)dominating the voting. Second position was the most consistent player throughout the season in Jackson Macrae (35) from the season’s big improver Toby McLean (33). Tom Liberatore (22) took the minor vote.. Other to secure votes were Picken (7), Murphyy (4), Suckling (2) and Bailey Dale with a single vote.
