Re: MRP thread 2017
I'm not going to agree or disagree as I only got a brief look at it and I'm not that interested in going back to have another look.
But I wonder what the ruling would have been if it was round 4 of the season.

Can't agree with that. Cotchin had other options but chose to bump - onus is on him once contact is made to the head, which occurred before the ball became his focus.
Good luck to Cotchin and Ellis but both incidents would be suspendable in Round 8 at Spotless. The system is broken and needs to be completely overhauled.

i don't believe it was a bump, his eyes were on the ball

Clearly a bump, which forced Shiel out of the game with concussion. It was 2 motions - bump to head followed by focus on getting the ball (which only spilled free as a result of the bump to Shiel's head).

GWS' own doctors couldn't be sure that he was concussed because of this one incident - there was another hit he received.

Shocking decision but it was a lay down misere from day one that he would get off. Feeling even sorrier for Big Jack.

Re: MRP thread 2017
I was thinking today why doesn't the MRP have a full bench of retired umpires?
Rather than having ex players who would all carry some bias of some sort.

Yep. Another parented Adrian Anderson balls up.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
