Re: Western Bulldogs not playing with the same hunger

How much more hungry does our first half look if we convert a few opportunities?

The second half looked pretty hungry.

We're hobbling, but still in a very good position.

I think our performance underlines what Brereton said and we are a far more competitive side when the hunger is there. Our 2nd quarter was a woeful performance.

We played horrendously in patches throughout the season last year, and still won. I think some of us are looking at the overall grind that it was with some fairly rose coloured glasses due to the finals campaign, without acknowledging it's difficult to be in tip top shape at all times in a very even home and away season.

North and Fremantle are in better condition physically than we are, as was Collingwood, and we're to some extent playing catch up due to our later start. The gap should close over the coming weeks, but in the meantime we need to expect this to have an impact on how we compete physically and mentally.

Yeah we only ever looked like superstars for parts of the 1st 2 rounds. Rest were mostly grind fests.

Even Essendon wasn't the belting we all expected.
