Gee's it hard enough for most of our players to kick it to someone in a Doggies jumper and now you want them to hit a specific one.:D

How's this for a game plan.

Stringer taps it down to Stringer who takes a couple of bounces and slots it through?

Surely that's simple enough for them to get it?

Everyone else just shepherds. ;)

I've been a massive advocate for us to draft a high quality forward/midfield utility more than anything else over the last couple of drafts, and it looks like we may have found our man.

These are the types of players that truly win you high pressure games. If they're quiet in one spot they can be put in other areas of the ground to have an impact, and provide an opportunity for someone else to have an impact in the area they've vacated. Whilst we all want a KPF to be focal point and strong contributor, I think a player with Stringer's talents will be of greater use more consistently.

It's shaping up to be a pretty good draft for us, the 2012 effort.

The 2012 draft is looking excellent at this stage.
Prudden before injury looked like he may debut this season as well.
Just wondering if Scharenburg will be the player we'd be looking at
( similar physical attributes to Jake)

He has already done a couple of things a bit like that. Not from a stoppage situation but in general play. He is a magican with playing the ball in front of him.

He's coming along nicely. His smarts on the weekend were evident in that he is just so good at running to the right position to take a mark. He's a strong body and has good hands too which make him a difficult match up in contested marking situations.

He needs to get significantly fitter if we ever want to see him become a more permanent midfielder and his defensive work once the ball's out of his 5m area can leave a lot to be desired, although I'm sure that aspect of his game will improve as his fitness does.

Pretty happy with how he's coming along so far but still plenty of hard work to go before he's a good AFL player.
