we have fixed Matt Hanneberry's hamstrings so that son Dan could have played with us?

Anybody remember watching Matt in the 80s? - I have vague recollections of thinking he could have been really good.

I have it in my head he had chronic hamstring problems but it might have been ACL issues

Anyone remember more

He was a classy left footer who always looked like he could end up with a successful career. Unfortunately we never saw enough of him due to injury. He wasn't unlike his son in the way he moved.

With Smedts, Rance, Reid's x 2, Hannebery, Talia x 2 etc. plus getting Cordys x 2, Libba, Wally etc.

Any player playing more than 50 games must get to 100 as club policy.

Oh and I reckon the West boys will play 1000 games for the club too.

Then you have the Dahlhaus boys, the Stringer triplets and the six boys from Macrae.

I didn't realise Billie smedts old man played for us. Is there any chance we could offer a trade for Billie? Maybe Higgins

In the late '80s/early '90s I can remember sitting in the social club at Whitten oval watching Footscray play cricket. Matt Hanneberry was there and sold us some raffle tickets for the footballers end of season trip.

I still think one day a club is going to create a breeding program.
It will probably be Collingwood or Essendon and then it will get outlawed or something.

I can see clubs running dating like services to their star players to make sure they match up with females from sporting back grounds, or who are genetically a perfect match to create the uber footballer.

Sounds like an Irish joke I know. Girl goes home pregnant and her father says to her "You sure that baby is yours".

I had one of the players wives at my old club ask me how I new I didn't have any pups out there that I didn't know about.
I said it I didn't but would be fine because I can guarantee it was before I was with my wife.
I then said to her as a stir, did she know she didn't have any kids out there she didn't know about.
She replied , "I could have, I will never know".:o:D

Breeding Program. Brilliant idea, only wait 18 years to see decent results. All for it.
