Welcome to the WOOF Player Awards for season 2014, Round 14, Port Adelaide v Western Bulldogs

There are two awards that you can vote on once the game is completed.

Voting closes each Tuesday at 8.00pm.

The first award is for the Joe Marmo Medal for the best players on the ground.

There are 4 votes allocated and it's a 4 for the best and of course 3, 2 and 1.

The second award is for the Ron James Medal for the best 2 pups on the ground.

2 Votes allocated - 2 being for the best pup and 1 for the runner-up
Remember the cut off age for a pup is 22 as at the 1st of January, 2014.

Particularly Wallis. I don't even think I'm getting ahead of myself when I say that Bomtempelli will be a star. Libba was down today, but he'll be a star. Macrae will be a star, too. There's 3 blokes who'll all play 8-9 seasons together.

Then there was Wood who is having a great year and Stringer who could be anything. Cordy and Campbell (who are kids on the ruckman clock) are maturing well, whilst Honeychurch, Talia and Roberts will all be good footballers in 2-3 years time.

Today was a bit of a disaster. A Murphy's Law day. However this season is really about player development. On that front, I can take some positives onboard.

Hrovat kicking that goal after a long run was enough for me. After Farren Ray, McMahon and Tutty I'm guessing maybe a 40% chance to score a goal in such a circumstance (no offence to those boys), but with Hrovat's speed and balance I had immense confidence, he's just a smooth mover and great kick. May Hrovat continue for many years to stream past 50m because damn he's good.

I had to work today and missed the game, so after hearing the scores I was thinking of giving the replay a miss, but after seeing that most have given the 4 votes to Bonty I might have to watch it after all. He must have been special.
