View Full Version : Changing the English Vocabulary - Bontempelli

I'd like to see if we can change the English Vocabulary. Changing these things all has to start somewhere, so why not on internet forum...

Specifically using 'Bontempelli'. Since he will give us 15 years in which to do it. Can we interchange his name much like the mafia movies use 'forget about it' as the answer for a heap of scenarios (see Donnie Brasco).

For instance, "that kid, he's a real Bontempelli". Or if someone asks how your meal was, "it was Bontempelli".

Other suggestions most welcome for the use! :)

Some phrases for your new lexicon:

I hope he has a real Bontempelli today.

Throw him forward and see if we can get a bit of Bontempelli going.

I wish we had two Bontempellis.

I like the top one, modified for exam takers... "How did you go on your exam? I got a Bontempelli." (A Grade)

The new 'Stephen Hill Type'.

I think it translates roughly to 'Good Time' or something similar.

Bontempelli could just be another way of saying you had a good time? "How was your night out?" "I had a Bontempelli".

So the opposite of having a Taylor Adams day?

It can also be used in the context of- Had a dodgy curry for lunch, out of the way I need to take a Taylor Adams

I reckon just using 'bont' as an adjective works. As an example where slang words such as sick or sweet or phat might be used you would interchange the word bont.

To put it in bogan context, when you see an impressive vehicle you would say "that care is fully bont!"

Or, Q; how was your meal? A; it was totally bont.

Lastly if you were to have a big night you could say that things went 'totally bonters'. (Replacing bonkers).

This is wonderfully irreverent thread btw.

Now that I think of it, BT has breached his "Starting positive threads after a win" ban.

Dear members, supporters and WBFC players, I apologise. It was selfish I didn't consider pissing off the football gods again. This is like 3/4 time 1997 when I said to my mates in the Southern Stand we need to get tickets next week somehow. I take full responsibility and apologise deeply for any offence, my behaviour has been unBontempellian and will say 10 'Hail Bontys' and the Bonts prayer as penance.

Didn't you start a thread to make this consistent?

I am clutching a cold beer and have a bowl of salted munchies beside me.
Feeling fully Bont.

Then you get credited with this BAD. I can see cheer squad banners for 15 years with that, and if he wants to strip post AFL career he's got a guaranteed show name right there.

Another type:

Q. How do you think my presentation to the shareholders went today?
A. It was OK, was no Bontempelli, but I think it was well received.

Q. How do you shoot this morning on 18 holes.
A. A few shots over normal, you can't be Bontempelli all the time. (Unless you are Bontempelli)

It's pretty clear now that Bontempelli has taken the mantle from sliced bread as the pre-eminent comparison when discussing all things divine in nature.

My girlfriend is even in on the act now, after I woke up and rolled over for a morning cuddle, she remarked "You're Bontempelli's poking me in the back!"
