Welcome to the WOOF Player Awards for season 2014, Round 22, Western Bulldogs v Sydney Swans

There are two awards that you can vote on once the game is completed.

Voting closes each Tuesday at 8.00pm.

The first award is for the Joe Marmo Medal for the best players on the ground.

There are 4 votes allocated and it's a 4 for the best and of course 3, 2 and 1.

The second award is for the Ron James Medal for the best 2 pups on the ground.

2 Votes allocated - 2 being for the best pup and 1 for the runner-up
Remember the cut off age for a pup is 22 as at the 1st of January, 2014.

Liam Jones, Christian Howard, Koby Stevens, Jason Tutt, Tom Campbell, Luke Dahlhaus, Thomas Liberatore, Tom Young, Mitch Wallis, Jason Johannisen, Daniel Pearce, Fletcher Roberts, Clay Smith, Michael Talia, Sam Darley, Jake Stringer, Nathan Hrovat, Jackson Macrae, Joshua Prudden, Lachlan Hunter, Marcus Bontempelli and Mitch Honeychurch.

Rookie's – Alex Greenwood, Lin Jong
* Mark Austin, Jack Redpath (if elevated not eligible for pup selection due to pup cut-off age)

3. Murphy.....couple of turnovers but never stopped trying to create something
2. Morris.....heroic effort against the odds
1. Stringer.....apart from that appalling stuff up on goal he was our only effective forward

4. Hrovat: great 4 quarter effort, masterclass of playing of the marking contests.
3. Morris: without him Swans would have won by well over 100, impacted so many contests despite playing on the most dangerous forward. Young defenders take note, please.
2. Libba: big 2nd quarter helped us respond from earlier onslaught.
1. Strings: thought he commanded the ball and played with intent.

Best thing to come out of the season is our young guys are stepping up.

I agree Remi. What I also particularly like is that the younger players are not "pressured" into kicking to the older players if they are not in the best position. A number of times this season I have seen Macrae or Bontempelli ignore older players when they are not the best option.
