Guys,
Like most on here, absolutely loved the build up, game day and final result at the VFL Grand Final last Sunday, the passion and noise near and at the end of the game will stay with me for a long time and I can only hope I am around to see it replicated at AFL level. One thing that did strike me though was the amount of supporters I hadn't seen previously and it got me thinking about the following questions and whether you guys would be happy to answer.

1. Did you attend the VFL Grand final last weekend?
2. Are you a paid up Western Bulldogs member?
3. How many AFL games did you attend in 2014?
4. How many VFL games did you attend in 2014?
5. If more VFL than AFL why?
6. Out of 10 how did you rate your Grand Final experience and why?
And any other comments you wish to share with the rest of us, sorry for getting all Eastdog with all the questions but genuinely interested in your responses.
Cheers Mitch.

1. Yes - H&A + social club + pet membership
2. Yes
3. Ummmmm, embarrassed to say three
4. Three - the three finals (call me a bandwagon-er)
5. Given I intended to get to the Whitten Oval for the VFL during the season proper, the atmosphere and the romance of going back to WO was far more appealing than going to the empty concrete jungle that is Etihad
6. The grand final experience was 10/10 because:
a) We won (obviously)
b) There was actually a crowd and an atmosphere (compared to the GWS game for instance)
c) probably relates to b), but I think people actually BELIEVED we could do it. There was a winning expectation in the air, which is not something we've had a lot of recently.

1. Yes!
2. Yes, since a kid.
3. None. To make up for a year off (for personal reasons) I bought a couple of VFL packages and a few bulldogs backyard packages.
4. Two Bendigo based VFL games. All 3 finals. TAC and some champs.
5. AFL footy is not enjoyable to watch for the most part and personal reasons. VFL, but more so TAC is better footy to watch.
6. 10/10. About 800 people, me included, couldn't get in until about 15 minutes into the first quarter. How Etihad can not have a modern pay pass or Myki type card reading machines is beyond me.

2. Yes for 38 out of a possible 45 years
3. About 12 I think
4. 4 VFL games. Coburg away and 3 Finals

6. GF experience was one of the most enjoyable days I've had at Etihad. The game and atmosphere rate a 10/10. Unfortunately because of Etihad's perennial contempt of the public the stadium experience was 4/10.

5. If more VFL than AFL why?

I went to more AFL than VFL, but I enjoyed the VFL more. It felt like a more legitimate competition rather than a WWE main event.

6. Out of 10 how did you rate your Grand Final experience and why?

9/10. Great game, good atmosphere, but some friends missed most of the first quarter due to the ridiculous lines outside.

1. No. I had planned to, but my apprentice at work decided not to show up anymore with no warning. Bitch.
2. Hell yes.
3. half a dozen, I work some weekends and live 2 and a half hours away so not as many as I wish.
4. Zero.

6. 5/10 I got to watch the last half on telly and it was very enjoyable. Felt like the Preseason cup win to me and not even close to the feeling(or what I think the feeling would be like) of winning the real thing unfortunately.

Yes.
2. Are you a paid up Western Bulldogs member?
Yes
3. How many AFL games did you attend in 2014?
Six or so maybe. They all blurred together into a big sort of not very interesting mess.
4. How many VFL games did you attend in 2014?
Just the granny - planned to go to a whole bund though but never made it.
5. If more VFL than AFL why?
No
6. Out of 10 how did you rate your Grand Final experience and why?
Ten. Although I should take a point off for the Katy Perry song at half time. One of the best things about the VFL is that there is no "match day experience" it's just going to the footy.

1. Did you attend the VFL Grand final last weekend?
No - but followed it closely on SEN.

2. Are you a paid up Western Bulldogs member?
Side line member + supported the backyard initiative

3. How many AFL games did you attend in 2014?
Unfortunately, only 2. However, I am expecting this to steadily improve over the next few years.

4. How many VFL games did you attend in 2014?
0. Freedom to go to a match is a problem at the moment but see answer to 3. above.

5. If more VFL than AFL why?
N/A

6. Out of 10 how did you rate your Grand Final experience and why?
5/10 - I enjoyed it but without wishing to cause offence, it was just the seconds and our seconds have around 8 players who have just not made it in the AFL in 3+ seasons and probably never will. My enjoyment of the win was tempered by the knowledge that it would increase the chances of building support to retain a lot of these players and unfortnately this is exactly what has happened. I would be a more avid follower of our VFL team if instead of the 8 on the list who will never make it as senior players, there were 8 who still had an AFL future beckoning them.

The GOOD: 10/10. Fantastic atmosphere and getting onto the ground after the game.

The BAD: l had 5 kids with me between 7 and 10 years old and lost them on the ground after the game. We were on 2nd level and as soon as siren went they ran off. When they are not all yours you tend to shit yourself a bit.

6. Out of 10 how did you rate your Grand Final experience and why? 10/10, der we won!! I wasn't nervous at all because I kept telling myself it is only the reserves, well that was up until we drew level in the last. At that point in time I think a bit of wee might have come out. Such a great Bulldogs atmosphere and great feeling when there was about 5 minutes to go and i knew we had it won.
It was great to see The Bont getting mobbed for photos on the ground as well. What an impact he has had on our supporters after just 16 games.

7/10, very mixed feelings. It was fantastic to win a GF, but couldn't see how really any of those players are being developed for the AFL team. Disappointed that there was no one in the back-line or forward-line that gave me hope for the future of the Western Bulldogs.
