Stocked up on 167-186cm forwards with 5 picks. We must see Dahl in there.

He's had mixed results when tried more as a midfielder than as a forward.
Is he really a mid?

Not in my opinion.

Dahl is best as a high half forward who can use his pace to present, as well as his pace to turn his opponent around. In midfield he can't use these as strengths, has average decision making/disposal and isn't physically as strong as most other mids.

I hope not. His strength and most value has been as a goal kicking, small forward. He actually added the lead up marking element to his game this season as well, approaching Matty Robbins' capacity as a small. Would rather he did most of his work in that role.

Agree he's a forward, my guess is they want Hunter to move in the midfield.

McLean I think can move into the midfield in the future as well. Still not sure where that leaves, Daniel, Honeychurch though.

To me, Hunter, Hrovat, Webb and Dale are the midfielders of the group, with most of the others able to take a turn too when required, but perhaps best suited to the forward half at this stage.

Agree now that Dal stays inside the F50. McLean is a forward, but I reckon Hunter goes into the midfield, and that we have pegged Webb and Hamilton, at least initially, as back flankers, and Daniel seems to be a pure mid. Not sure about Dale, but he is a few seasons off playing seniors you would think.

What is stopping Daniel from getting a game next year? he has already played SANFL hasnt he? He can already run a 16 beep and a very decent 3km time trial. Wouldnt suprise me to see him getting a game ahead of Hrovat, to be honest, and I think the combination of Daniel and Mclean coming in has Honeychurch under real pressure.

This draft improves our mid term depth across the park very nicely.

Probably strength. Tony Liberatore was 163cm 78kg, Caleb Daniel is 167cm 68kg

Libba's brother was a bodybuilder so Tony was always going to be able to put on size.
Not sure about Daniel but his tank means he has decent outside capacity.

On the north melbourne website, which is now telling truths about harveys height, he is 167/175. Hes well into his 30s when guys tend to be at their peak for strength. 5 or 6 years ago he would have been lighter - heres a picture of him from 2009 looking lighter than his current pics
561

If he is 175 now, what is he there? 171/172?

I reckon Daniel is probably only 3 or 4 kgs off his playing weight for a younger player.

From what I could find, Jake Neade is the only other player under 75kg in the AFL

Dahl will ultimately be a forward option who can help in the middle long term, though I think for the next couple of years he'll have to play midfield until the list settles and we understand whether Wallis and Smith alongside the new draftees can do the job without him being there.

How tall was Paul Callery, he was real short. Played for Melbourne then went to StKilda. He won their goal kicking one year.

Macca was moving him towards that role anyway, as he was with Hunter and Hrovat in the next few years.

yeah, so playing weight is generally around their height -100cm - a few kgs lower when they are younger, a few kgs higher when they are nearing their thirties.

For smaller guys, they have to have those extra kgs earlier. Daniel needs to put on 3 or 4 kilos over the preseason, and Im tipping him for round 1!

He looks like a unit already, surprised by his weight. I am also tipping him for round one, and for the rising star (my girlfriend had $10 on him @ $81!
